Parashar Lake
Discover the wonder of Mandi
Parashar Lake Located at an altitude of 2730 mtr, lies 49 km east of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India, with a three storied pagoda-like temple dedicated to the sage Parashar. There are two options to reach Prashar Lake. One is by trek from Baggi village through the woods, and another is direct via road. The road goes all the way to the top and is about 20 km in length from Baggi Village.
Barot
Hidden Paradise
Barot is a frequent backpacker and day tourist destination. Many trekking trails pass through Barot, including trails to Bada Bhangal, Manali and Kullu. Most tourists are attracted by the serene surroundings and availability of cheap accommodation.
Of late, Barot is also developing into an angling destination. The Uhl river supports trout breeding and Barot has a few fish farms. Across the river Uhl is the Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary, home to goral, Himalayan black bear and a variety of pheasants. Three artificial lakes including one reservoir on Uhl river enhance the beauty of this magnificent hidden treasure as one enters the Barot village near Dhrangan.
Janjehli
The Virtual Paradise
At a distance of 70 km from Mandi, Janjehli is a paradise for hikers, offering treks up to a height of 3,300 metres. All the road is motorable and fun to ride. It takes about 3 hours to reach Janjehli from Mandi. In the midst of thick forest, Janjehli is popular for adventure activities like-trekking, night safari, mountaineering, and skiing. At the distance of 10 km from Janjehli is Shikari Mata temple.
